Privacy Policy

Star Unshaken ("we," "our," or "us") provides a private healing companion and community. This policy explains the information we collect, why we use it, the services that process it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

• Account and profile: email address, authentication identifiers, display name, preferences, consent records, and subscription status.
• Content you choose to create: journal entries and optional photos or stickers, mood check-ins, affirmations, reminders, vision-board items and photos, saved collage layouts and generated illustrations, planner tasks and routines, Brain Dump content, companion conversations and saved memory when enabled, and Campfire posts or reactions.
• Optional calendar imports: with device permission, the planner reads appointments from a calendar you choose for the next 30 days. Imported titles, dates, times and an event reference become planner content saved to your private account. Importing does not edit your phone calendar and is not continuous calendar synchronization.
• Device and usage: device type, app version, IP address, session identifiers, diagnostics, crash and security logs, notification settings, and product-usage events.
• Purchase information: product, entitlement, trial, renewal, and transaction status. Payment credentials are handled by the applicable app store or payment provider and are not stored by Star Unshaken.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, personalize, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the service.
• Authenticate accounts and synchronize user-created content.
• Generate Lola responses and optional personalized memory.
• Deliver reminders and notifications you enable.
• Manage subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with law, and enforce our Terms.
• Understand aggregate feature usage and improve Star Unshaken.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use journal content, mood data, or Lola conversations for third-party advertising.

3. AI Processing

Text you send to Lola or another AI-assisted feature is transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate a response. Relevant conversation context may also be sent when personalization or memory is enabled. When you request AI planning help, relevant tasks and imported appointments from your planner may be included. When you request an illustration, vision goals, affirmations and art preferences are sent to generate artwork, which is saved privately with your account. Uploaded journal and vision photos are stored privately and are not sent as image inputs to these AI features. AI output may be inaccurate. Avoid sharing information you do not want processed by an AI service.

4. Service Providers

We use service providers only as needed to operate Star Unshaken, including Clerk for authentication; OpenAI for AI responses; Railway and database/cloud providers for hosting and storage; Cloudflare R2 for private journal photos, vision photos and generated illustrations, accessed using short-lived signed links; RevenueCat and Apple or Google for subscriptions and purchase status; Expo and device-platform services for optional notifications and app delivery; and limited analytics, logging, and security providers such as PostHog when enabled. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.

5. Campfire and Shared Content

Campfire content you post is shared with other members as described in the interface. Posts may appear anonymous to other members, but Star Unshaken may associate activity with your account for safety, moderation, security, and legal compliance. Do not include information you do not want others to see.

6. Retention and Deletion

We retain account information and user-created content while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or comply with law. You can remove saved photos using the app’s photo controls. Removing a photo placement from a collage keeps the original saved photo; deleting a saved photo removes its references, with storage cleanup retried if needed. You can use Delete Account in the app or email starunshaken@gmail.com. We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where limited retention is legally required. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through the store used to purchase them.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, or receive a portable copy of personal information. You may control optional notifications in the app or device settings and may disable Lola personalization or memory where available. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

8. Security and International Processing

We use safeguards including HTTPS/TLS, authentication, and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

9. Children's Privacy

Star Unshaken is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice or request renewed consent when required.
